The 2023 CEC High Performance Program and Events National Teams are starting to take form!
CEC Olympic and National Squads
With Paris 2024 looming in the horizon, CEC is implementing, as of January 1st, 2023, the Olympic and National Squads divisions within the High Performance Program. To learn more about the criteria required to make these squads, as well as the benefits associated with them, please read this framework.
CEC is excited to introduce the first two members of our Olympic Squad: Alannah Yip and Ethan Pitcher! These two amazing athletes are tracking to qualify in one of the Olympic Disciplines through the IFSC Qualification System.
Six other CEC athletes have been identified as having tremendous potential to qualify for the Olympic Games. These athletes will have their chances to join the Olympic Squad after the first few 2023 IFSC Events. The proud members of the CEC National Squad are: Erica Velev, Madison Richardson, Michael Finn-Henry, Oscar Baudrand, Sean McColl, and Victor Baudrand.

Complete 2023 High Performance Program Squads will be announced once all the High Performance Competitions and Selections have been concluded.
2023 IFSC Season
The 2023 IFSC Season is set to begin with 3 World Cups in Asia between April 21 and May 7. There will be 2 Boulder Events (Japan, Korea) and 2 Speed Events (Korea, Indonesia). The athletes representing Canada at the Boulder Events have been selected, while the teams for the Speed events will be selected on March 27th.
